Being creative is where I feel most myself.
Hi! I'm Chelsy, a San Antonio-based Learning Experience Designer with a background in art education and a lifelong passion for learning. My experience designing instruction for diverse learners taught me the value of creating meaningful learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and rooted in real-world application.
As both an educator and artist, I combine instructional design principles with visual communication to create learning experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and effective. I am particularly passionate about scenario-based learning, where learners can actively practice skills, make decisions, and learn through experience.
I believe great learning goes beyond delivering information. It empowers people to build confidence, solve problems, and apply new skills in meaningful ways.
My Experience
My experience has centered on helping people learn, build confidence, and navigate new challenges. As an art educator, I design lessons that break complex creative processes into clear, approachable steps while adapting instruction for different learners. Before teaching, I worked as a front office manager in a veterinary clinic, where I developed training materials to support new hires as they learned clinic procedures, client communication, and daily workflows.
I also worked in Apple technical support, where I helped customers troubleshoot technology issues and guided them through unfamiliar tools with patience and clarity. These experiences shaped my interest in instructional design because they showed me the importance of clear communication, practical support, and learning experiences that help people apply skills in real situations.
I always enjoy learning something new. Whether I'm taking a class, learning how to grow my own flowers and vegetables, or cozying up with a good book, I am drawn to the process of discovery, experimentation, and continuous growth. I'm a member of a makerspace and love to create ceramic artwork. My evenings are spent cuddled with my cat, Dolly.
